Overview

Designed and implemented a custom 4-Bit NanoProcessor entirely from scratch using VHDL, covering the complete processor architecture from RTL design to FPGA deployment. The processor was successfully synthesized and implemented on a Basys 3 FPGA, demonstrating practical knowledge of digital system design and computer architecture.

🏗️ Architecture

  • Designed the complete processor datapath and control unit from scratch without using pre-built processor IP cores.
  • Implemented custom hardware modules including the ALU, Instruction Register (IR), Register File, Program Counter (PC), Control Unit, multiplexers, and supporting logic.
  • Developed the complete instruction fetch, decode, and execute cycle for program execution.
